Company Terminals

Companies can purchase company terminals. There is no limit on the total number of terminals a company can purchase other than what the company bank balance allows. The company must have the full build/upgrade cost in hand in order build or upgrade a terminal. Theoretically, each company may purchase as many or as few terminals as required.

There are four classes of company terminals in TruckingSim, each with its own characteristics. In order of price/quality these four terminal classes are defined as:
Garage
Depot
Regional Hub
Headquarters (HQ).

Each terminal starts out as the lowest class (garage) and can be upgraded to a higher class at any time. Terminals have an initial build cost, upgrade costs and a daily running cost dependant on the class of terminal. Terminal upgrades can be demolished and terminals can be sold.

Using company terminals

Once you belong to a company with terminals you can use them in two ways:
At the end of a route by selecting a company terminal as your destination.
In the middle of your route by selecting a company terminal as your optional stop.

Once you join a company the drop-down boxes that you use to select your destination/optional stop will be modified slightly. The drop-down list is split into two sections as shown: the top grouping is the list of cities with company terminals and the second group is the cities where your company does not own a terminal.
Route payment bonuses will be applied automatically when you select a company terminal as the destination (not as the optional stop) but you must be in the company terminal to use the other terminal bonuses.

Knowing when you are in a company terminal that you have selected as a destination is easy. Simply wait until you have finished the route and then perform all the actions, for example refuelling and repairing, before selecting a new route.

If you selected a company terminal as an optional stop you will automatically be taken to the optional stop screen once you get that far on your journey.

You can now make use of the repair and refuel buttons without using any EL. Once items are added to the game you will also be able to upgrade your truck at this point.

Purchasing and modifying terminals

Company terminals may be built or modified by any company member with the appropriate permissions. This includes the company CEO, Vice President and any custom positions granted “edit company” permissions. Users without these permissions are unable to view the terminals tab at this time.

Terminals can be edited via the terminals tab of the View My Company page.

To purchase a new terminal select the name of the city you wish your new terminal to be in from the drop-down list in the Purchase new terminal box and click the [Image: terminals3.png] button to build your new terminal.

You can view data about your existing terminals in several ways. Firstly there is a small summary box in the top left part of the screen that tells you at a glance how many of each terminal class you currently own.

More usefully, there is a google map showing the distribution of your current terminals and a data table that allows you to edit your existing terminals. If you do not wish to see the google map simply click the map titlebar and the map will roll up out of the way. Click the titlebar again and the map will re-appear. This feature is particularly useful if you know that you will be accessing the game from a mobile device and wish to save on bandwidth.

All the controls to modify your existing terminals are located in the table at the bottom of the terminals tab. This table shows the total build cost of each terminal so far, including upgrades; the cost of the next upgrade and the cost to downgrade one class if applicable. In future it will be possible to assign names to your terminals but this feature is not available right now.
